December 9 , 1999, Jackson, MS - Ridgewood Clinics has launched a brand new presence on the Internet via a web site dedicated to providing consumer education and information in the realm of child, adolescent and adult psychiatry. Since 1994 the clinic has been offering a variety of mental and physical health services to help with emotional, physical or mental illness, and plans to lead the way in using the Internet as another tool in bringing patient and provider together.

   “First we are focusing on the fundamentals in Ridgewood Clinics' new web site,” said Krishan K. Gupta, M.D., the clinic's founder and practicing board-certified psychiatrist. “We have placed our initial emphasis on educating consumers in our web site. . .on empowering them to take the first step in learning about definitions, symptoms, causes, and other essential knowledge that will help them in their decision to seek medical help,” he added.

   “We want people to know about the Team Approach we offer here, and we felt the World Wide Web was a natural way to reach the most people with the greatest efficiency,” said Pamela Spiers-Jones, Ridgewood Clinics' Licensed Certified Social Worker.

   Ridgewood Clinics' web site is the product of a collaborative effort between Dr. Gupta and his staff and healthcare marketing communications specialists Broderick/Bates Advertising, Inc., Jackson, MS.

   “We're proud to be a part of this project and the commitment to providing vital information to the healthcare consuming public that Dr. Gupta and his team believe in so firmly,” noted John E. Broderick, president of B/BA and account supervisor overseeing Ridgewood Clinics' web site.

   Dr. Gupta said the web site will be a “work in progress, with many new features and functions added over time. We foresee our use of the web as an increasingly important means of clarifying the sometimes misunderstood field of psychiatric care to not only our service area, but the entire global community.”
