  • Employment History Clinical Social Worker Ridgewood Clinics 1059 Ridgewood Place   Jackson, Mississippi  39216 11/2006 to present Provide counseling to individuals, families and groups in a private, small clinic setting.   I work with children, adolescents, families, and adults.   Referrals are given for emergency inpatient care at a local inpatient facility as needed.  Conduct mini mental status exams for elderly patients, or general population clients, as requested by the psychiatrists in our practice.

    Jackson Mental Health Center / Hinds Behavioral Health Services which was at one time part of St. Dominic’s Hospital Jackson, Mississippi  39210 07/1988 to 11/2006 Provided emergency screenings, intakes, individual and family counselling, and group counseling.   Group sessions were on the topics of anger management and anxiety reduction.   Also provided pre-evaluation screenings on a monthly rotation for court commitments in Hinds County. Visited hospitalized patients on an as needed basis.    In addition to services provided to clients, I also provided education to other counselors at the clinic, as a speaker in a lecture series on topics of mental health, to community professionals at a hospital seminar on the topic of community services, and I provided training and supervision for four Jackson State University graduate students during four consecutive twelve month internships as part of their graduate degrees in Social Work. Mental Health Therapist Vincennes Comprehensive Mental Health Center Vincennes, Indiana  47591 06/1987 to 06/1988 Provided intakes as well as individual and family counselling.   Travelled to satellite offices for provision of rural care.  Gave presentations to the community on various mental health topics
